Terms of use
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Mitch Goulson, the developer of Schemers of Venice ("we", "us"), for the app and schemersofvenice.com. By playing with other people or using the camera, you accept them. If you got the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ about the app itself, Apple's terms govern.
1. Who can play
You must be 13 or older to play with other people, join or host a room, chat, or use the camera or microphone. Anyone can play against the computer.
2. Zero tolerance for abuse
Rooms are invite-only, and everyone in them deserves a good time. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, bully or demean anyone, or use hate speech or slurs about anyone's race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other trait;
- show nudity or sexual content, or anything violent, illegal or shocking, on camera or in chat;
- impersonate anyone, share someone's private information, or spam;
- involve anyone under 13 in a game with other people or on camera;
- cheat by attacking, overloading or tampering with the game or its servers.
We act on every report within 24 hours. Breaking these rules gets you removed from the game and banned, by device and by account, without warning. We decide what crosses the line.
3. Reporting and blocking
Tap any player's seat (or the flag by their name in the waiting room) to report or block them. A report hides and mutes them for you at once and comes to us with the room's recent chat. Blocking hides and mutes them for you in future rooms too. Hosts can also remove players and lock their room. Contact: support@schemersofvenice.com.
4. Video, sound and recording
Video and sound stream live to the players at your table and are never recorded or stored by us. Don't record, screenshot or share other players' video or voice without their permission. A red LIVE sign shows whenever your own camera or mic is on; you can turn them off at any time.
5. Your account
An account is optional. If you sign in with Apple, keep your Apple ID secure. You can delete your account at any time in Menu › Account.
6. What you send
You're responsible for what you say and show. You keep any rights you have in it, and you let us process it as far as needed to run the game and enforce these terms (for example, chat lines included in a report).
7. The game
Schemers of Venice is free, with no ads or purchases. We license it to you for personal, non-commercial play. The characters are public-domain historical and literary figures, plus the developer; credits are in the app under Menu › About and Credits. We may change or stop parts of the game, and may suspend access to protect players or the service.
8. No warranty, and limits
The game is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what other players say or do, to the extent the law allows. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. We'll update this page if they change; continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
